A: Motorhomes must be returned by 10am on the last day of booking. Bookings are from 4pm on Saturday until 10am the following Saturday, meaning they are WEEKLY. You must bring the vehicle back before 10am to ensure we have enough time to prepare the vehicle for the next customer(s). Failure to do so will result in a charge. See Terms and Conditions for details on charges.
A: As with most motorhomes, the shower area is compact so not suitable for very large people.
A: Yes, of course you can. Just let us know and we will leave those out to provide you with more storage space for such items. Although bedding is provided at no extra cost for our Fiat motorhome (Bonnie) customers are required to bring their own when hiring our pet-friendly Peugeot motorhome (Clyde).
A: Our motorhomes have enough cooking equipment, cutlery and crockery for 2 people.
A: Yes, the free-standing table located in the wardrobe is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. This is along with 2 camping chairs that hold a maximum weight of 15 and a half stone. Please ensure that people over 15 and a half stone do not use the camping chairs. This is to ensure the safety of the people using the chairs as much as the chairs.
A: No, as long as you send us the information we require and pay the £600 security deposit via card payment or bank transfer (NO CASH, apologies for any inconvenience).
A: There are only 2 belted seats so only 2 people. Anything more than this goes against the highway code and is an illegal offence.
A: In the unlikely event that you break down, our motorhomes are covered with RAC Breakdown Recovery (the number to call will be in the motorhomes).
A: Most campsites will let you use their service point for waste and fresh water refill, even if you are not staying with them. They will probably charge a small fee of approximately £10-12 if youre not staying with them but if you are then they will allow you to use their service point for free.
A: To save time with the handover as we know you'll be eager to get on with your holiday, we will email you 2 links to YouTube videos of the motorhome you have booked: one of the interior and one of the exterior. These videos will show you everything you need to know about how everything works with the motorhome so if you forget something, all youll need to do is watch the video on your phone.
A: We allow pets in our Peugeot motorhome, Clyde, but NOT in our Fiat motorhome, Bonnie. Sadly not everyone loves pets as much as we do and in order to make the experience as enjoyable for everyone, we do not allow pets to stay or travel in the Fiat Motorhome. As some people have allergies to pets we have to be very careful.
A: Yes. Unlike most other hire services, Heatherlee Motorhomes will provide some gas to get you through your stay completely free of charge. In most situations the gas that we provide you with will last for the duration of your hire period. However, in the event of heavy or excessive energy consumption, you may purchase more gas at your own expense.
A: No, sorry. Both motorhomes are strictly non-smoking. This is in place to ensure that everybody enjoys their motorhome experience, including the non-smokers who hire the vehicles after you do.
A: No, sorry. You cannot take the motorhomes out of the UK (England, Scotland and Wales). The insurance policy prohibits this.
A: Yes. Make yourself familiar with where the fire extinguisher, fire blanket, first aid kit etc are. It would be advisable to familiarise yourself with how to use these resources before an incident has chance to occur.
A: A £600 refundable security deposit must be paid before collection and will be refunded within 48 hours of returning the vehicle undamaged with nothing missing or broken. This deposit will be used for any damage, breakage or replacement etc.
A: Only when you return the vehicle. When you collect the vehicle it will have a full tank of diesel. The vehicle should be returned with full tank of diesel, just as it was collected (there are 2 fuelling stations in Keith).
A: You need to hand in the keys to Tony or Gilly when you return the motorhome. The vehicle must be locked when not inside and keys kept with the driver at all times.
A: If you are collecting the motorhome in your car, you will be pleased to know that we have plenty on-site parking in our own private grounds. Customers can leave their car completely free of charge for the duration of the hire period. Please bear in mind that we have no special security systems in place so cars will be left at your own risk.
We have an insurance excess of £1000 meaning we have to pay the first £1000 of any claim, we dont expect you to pay this amount but this is what the refundable £600 security deposit is for, so you would pay the first £600 of any claim or damage loss etc inside or outside of the motorhome, or for any additional work that Heatherlee Motorhomes has to do to restore it to its orginal condition. If the motorhome and contents is returned back to us in the same condition as you picked it up in, you will get your full £600 security deposit returned in full within 2 weeks of returning the vehicle.
